Support ‘Project Honey Pot’

As you know, I don’t like spam, well, who does? I took a look at Project Honey Pot today and it sounds really promising.

Project Honey Pot is the first and only distributed system for identifying spammers and the spambots they use to scrape addresses from your website.

What you do is that you install a bit of code on your server and a link to this code. The project takes care of the rest. They have recently released a new service called http:BL.

a system that allows website administrators to take advantage of the data generated by Project Honey Pot in order to keep suspicious and malicious web robots off their sites.

Together with a new a plugin for Wordpress (http:BL WordPress Plugin) you can now easily integrate this service into Wordpress and your site. It could not be any easier. You should really support this project, go and check it out.

EDIT: It seem to work really well, some statistics for the last days.
