KHTML (aka Safari) on Windows part V
Last time I wrote about Safari for Windows (Win32) it was when a real port of WebKit was released. The problem was that the project quickly died, I think the main developer for the project did not have the time to work on this. After a tip from Troels I now see that there is a version 0.2 of Swift, I am not sure if it is the same people who is working on porting WebKit aka Safari for Windows or if it is them same developer. Does anyone have info on this?

With Firefox so competent, why would someone want to run Safari (or KHTML) on Windows? Don’t get me wrong, I love Safari and use it out of choice for personal browsing, but don’t feel the need have it when I’m forced to boot my XP box.

I think this browser is far away from a version which will be usefull for us to test. For example, http://www.apple.com doesn’t display right…

You are absolutely correct, but this is still really beta, version 0.2 and they have come a really long way. Hope to see a new version though.

Hi Guys,
You don’t need Swift for KHTML in Windows now. Apple have released Safari Public 3.01 beta for Windows and Mac OS X as a free download. Get it from:
http://www.apple.com/safari/
It’s authentic, with the Safari GUI. I thought Konqueror would be ported to Windows before this happens. I didn’t even think it would happen.
Enjoy.
