Listen to JediSthlm.com part II

I have now installed another option for listening to my posts or articles. This one in more for people who don’t want to listen to podcasts. This service will work right away by clicking on a link. The article will be read by an synthetic voice. The service will use either your browser or your media player. It depend how your browser is set up. I´m trying this out with a service called Talkr. The service is free (there is also a possibility to pay for it).

I think it is a nice way to have both options. Some people use the browser to surf the web, some use RSS readers and some listen to podcasts. So check it out, the link is below the article, “listen to this post”.

Happy birthday

I just noted that this site had a birthday this week. The 26th this month my site became 2 years of age. How could I have missed this? Managing this site has been really great, I never thought that it would live for such a long time. It nice to see that there are some still reading my posts. So, why don’t you congratulate my site for becoming two.

Listen to JediSthlm.com

You now have the opportunity to listen to my feeds aka podcasts. You might think that I would manually record all my feeds but I don’t. Instead I use the great PodCaster service from ReadSpeaker. The service automatically creates an synthetic voice recording of my feeds, even better, it sound really good for being a synthetic voice I must say. I’m having the American female voice talking, sound amazing.

So, how do you listen to the podcast, get a program that downloads podcast. I use iTunes as I have a iPod. Here is bunch of programs to use for downloading podcast.

I believe that this kind of service is really amazing for people with accessibility problems. Hopefully many sites will use this service for their feeds. The quality of the voice is really great. It works for many languages, I’ve heard both Swedish, American English and British English and they are all impressive.

So great thanks to ReadSpeaker / Phoneticom for letting me try out their fantastic service.

Feedburner and Wordpress

I read a post over at Rogers 456bereastreet about redirecting the feeds to Feedburner. Good idea I thought. The problem with the feeds that it is very hard to see any statistics about them, who, when and what my users read. I use both Measuremap and Google Analytics on this site but none can show any stats on the feeds. Robert Nyman left a comment about a feedburner plugin for Wordpress that I now have installed. Really easy to install and works like charm. Now I can also see who is reading my feeds. Just too bad that it isn’t integrated into Google Analytics or Measuremap.
