PHP Designer 2005 is great PHP editor, even better, it is free and is also working fine with HTML and CSS.
The development environment in PHP Designer 2005 combines many powerful features such as customizable syntax schemes for PHP, HTML, XHTML, CSS, Perl, C#, JavaScript, VB, Java and SQL (Ingres, Interbase, MSSQL, MySQL, Oracle, Sybase and Standard SQL), a class/include browser, test and debug your scripts with the PHP interpreter, integration of the PHP manual, parameter hint, auto indent of brackets, automatic close brackets, access to common code/script libraries all combined in this one unique program.
Go and get it.
PHP Designer 2005 is my first choice of software for coding my pages. It’s a great program which allows a lot of customisation and although it’s getting kind of old now I use it for everything except coding CSS (although it works great for that too I just prefer TopStyle Lite). It’s best feature is allowing you to select several languages at once which is great if you have a webpage with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and MySql all in the same page.
Unfortunately it’s not available for download easily but if anyone leaves me a message on MySpace I do have a copy I’d be happy to forward. The More recent versions have become more and more limited and hopefully someone will find it and put this older (and in my opinion better) version up online again.
